Understanding the New Band A Electricity Tariff
NEPA (or DisCo) has increased the tariff for "Band A" customers to over ₦200 per kWh. But wait, are you even in Band A? And why is your unit reading running faster than Usain Bolt?
Know Your Band
Electricity consumers are grouped into Bands (A, B, C, D, E) based on the hours of power supply they are supposed to get. Band A is 20+ hours.
If you just load ₦5,000 on your meter, do you know how many units that actually gives you? Or how long it will last if you run your AC all night?
